My name is Bill Hammonds, and I have been an entrepreneur and successful business operator for decades. I am an objective advisor, coach, and mentor to a select group of high performing CEOs who have seen their leadership approach change, resulting in successes they thought beyond their reach.
When I first learned of independent advisory groups for CEO’s I was in my thirties, was President and COO of a very fast growing business, and had no idea what they were talking about. I joined one of the most prestigious of those organizations and ended up leading one of its most storied chapters before I was summarily thrown out at the age of 50. I was too old to be “young”.
After another two decades of running businesses, I spent 10 years working with what may be the best executive development organization in the world and built a group of 12 to 14 CEO’s who stayed together for 7 years. COVID changed things for that group, people sold out, retired or simply closed their businesses. And I decided I wanted to work in a different way with a smaller and more focused group of individuals.
I had been taught that a “peer” group of 12 or more people was essential for the group’s success. This was in defiance of my own experience with businesses that a group of 7-9 was the most committed, interesting and efficient group size. The discussions are deeper, the group is more focused and more unified, they will understand your business much better, and they have the time to spend with you.
